This course provides an introduction to the four core applications contained within OpenOffice.org 3, the open source office productivity suite for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Computer applications course using Microsoft 2010 which includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

In this semester course, students will work with digital drawings or computer-generated images (photos), and letterforms that make up various typefaces to produce professional quality posters, business logos, magazine ads, CD/DVD covers and other forms of visual communication projects. Using graphic design principles and concepts, each student will learn to inform, persuade, organize, stimulate, locate, identify, and attract attention to represent the ideas their clients want to communicate. Students will also learn to collaborate in team projects where they will develop shared project management skills such as interviewing and project scheduling, peer review and redesign. In addition, current technology issues will be discussed through class interaction and Moodle forums.

In this semester course, students develop skills in shooting video/photos, synthesizing the composition, producing video/photo communications, story planning, audio and narration planning and recording, and video/photo editing. Each student will use a digital camera, camcorder, scanner and other image devices and software to complete several hands-on projects throughout the semester. Students will also learn to collaborate in team projects such as weekly school announcements. Project activities focus on effective communications that can be viewed on DVD, the web or on the school MediaCast system.  In addition, current technology issues will be discussed through class interaction and Moodle forums.

This course uses previously learned web page design skills to develop web sites and web pages for the Hardin Northern School District and local commercial businesses. Students will collaborate with Hardin Northern staff, faculty, coaches and local business owners in designing and implementing web pages to be used in the classroom, on the Hardin Northern web site, and on the internet. Additional web page design skills will be presented and lab projects will be completed to further enhance the student's designing ability and skills.  Students will also learn to create an App for a mobile device such as a smartphone.  In addition, current technology issues will be discussed through class interaction and Moodle forums.

This is an introductory course for learning web page design concepts and principles. Students will use a step-by-step method of learning to develop professional-looking web page projects. End-of-chapter materials provide additional practice and reinforcement through skills reviews, project builders, design projects, and portfolio projects. In addition, current technology issues will be discussed through class interaction and Moodle forums.

In this semester course, students use simulations and games to learn programming concepts and principles. Students will design and develop video/arcade games through hands-on labs. Group presentation and individual instruction is also provided to emphasize major concepts and principles. In addition, current technology issues will be discussed through class interaction and Moodle forums.

In this semester course, students will learn to animate using industry standard software. Students will learn basic animation concepts and principles using both 2D/3D models. The emphasis of the course is hands-on labs; with some presentation and individual instruction. In addition, current technology issues will be discussed through class interaction and Moodle forums.
